It was a quick transition from winning a big race, to not even being able to start the next day. I crashed into one of the wooden stakes on the side of the course mid-race on Saturday. I took most of the impact in one spot, my kneecap, opening up a good sized hole in my skin but also badly bruising the bone. It swelled up so much post race and again the next morning that I couldn’t turn a complete pedal stroke without alot of pain. 

There’s nothing structurally wrong with the knee, it’s just a matter of dealing with the swelling and the pain to get it to a point where I can ride again. 10 minute hits on the trainer so far. We’ll see what happens next.
